  • Qalandars owner Sameen Rana says Mustafizur remained an integral part of the team’s identity

Defending champions Lahore Qalandars on Thursday announced the direct signing of Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The left-arm pacer, who previously represented the Qalandars in the 2016 and 2018 editions, has been signed for PKR 6.44 crore, marking his return to the franchise ahead of the PSL 11 auction.

Announcing the development, Lahore Qalandars owner Sameen Rana said Mustafizur remained an integral part of the team’s identity.

“Once a Qalandar, always a Qalandar. Mustafizur is not just a player; he’s a brother and a key part of our family who never really left,” Rana said. “We are delighted to welcome him back. His experience and skill set will be invaluable as we look to defend our title in PSL 11.”

The franchise has already retained captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, top-order batter Abdullah Shafique, all-rounder Sikandar Raza, and young prospect Mohammad Naeem, further solidifying its core squad ahead of the new season.

With Mustafizur’s inclusion, Lahore Qalandars have bolstered their bowling attack as they aim to continue their recent success and mount a strong title defence in PSL 11.
