LAHORE: The Virtual Center for Child Safety established at the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) is continuing to play an active and effective role in ensuring child protection by providing timely assistance and reuniting lost children with their families through the use of modern technology and a coordinated operational strategy.
According to the PSCA, its “Mera Pyara” Team recently achieved a major humanitarian milestone by reuniting Shazia, a girl who had been missing for the past nine years, with her parents. Shazia went missing in 2017 from District Okara and was later shifted to the Edhi Center in Lahore.The PSCA stated that the “Mera Pyara” Team recorded a detailed interview of the child residing at Edhi Home Lahore and shared the video on social media platforms. After viewing the video, Shazia’s family immediately contacted the PSCA’s “Mera Pyara” Team. Following complete verification and fulfilment of all legal requirements, the team safely reunited the child with her parents.
Expressing their gratitude, the family appreciated the tireless efforts of the “Mera Pyara” Team and offered heartfelt prayers. Shazia’s parents described their daughter’s return as a miracle by Allah Almighty.
The PSCA further said that the “Mera Pyara” Team remains fully committed and operational round the clock to reunite missing children with their families. Citizens seeking information regarding any missing child or individual have been advised to dial 15 and press 3 for further assistance.
