LAHORE: The Chief Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed deep sorrow and grief over the fire at Gul Plaza in Karachi, which resulted in valuable loss of life and property. He said that frequent fire incidents in large buildings and plazas in a major city like Karachi are clear evidence of the incompetence of the city and provincial governments.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that safety measures are not ensured during the construction of large plazas and buildings, due to which citizens not only suffer loss of lives but shopkeepers and traders also lose their lifetime earnings.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families of the firefighter and other martyrs who lost their lives in the incident. He demanded that the federal and provincial governments should provide immediate assistance to the families of the deceased and injured and ensure compensation for the financial losses.

He also called for the provision of the best and free medical treatment for the injured and continued support for the affected families.

The Emir Jamaat-e-Islami directed Alkhidmat Foundation to actively take part in relief activities and said that in this hour of grief and hardship, Jamaat-e-Islami will not leave the affected families alone.
