Six people, mostly children, were killed when the roof of a house collapsed during a wedding ceremony in the Shabqadar area of Charsadda, state-run Rescue 1122 said on Sunday.
The incident occurred at around 4am in the morning. Rescue teams responded promptly to the scene, but despite their efforts, several victims could not be saved.
The incident occurred when the roof of the living room, packed with wedding guests, caved in, trapping those inside. The victims included a woman and children between the ages of 7 and 15, the rescue service said.
Rescue teams worked to recover the bodies and clear debris, while investigations into the cause of the collapse are underway.
