ISLAMABAD: The city police conducted a series of search and combing operations across different localities of the federal capital, taking 15 suspected individuals into custody.

According to a senior police official, different police teams carried out the operations in the jurisdictions of Aabpara, Bani Gala, Tarnol, and Shams Colony police stations under the supervision of respective zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs).

During the operations, police checked 380 individuals, searched 192 houses, inspected five hotels, and examined 154 motorcycles and 49 vehicles. As a result, 15 suspicious persons, 17 motorcycles, and one vehicle were shifted to police stations for further legal proceedings.

The official said the operations were conducted on the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, to curb criminal activities and ensure the safety and security of the federal capital.

He added that such search and combing operations are being carried out regularly across various parts of Islamabad.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, stated that the primary objective of these operations is to tighten the security net around criminal elements and further strengthen the city’s overall security framework.

He added that Islamabad Police will continue indiscriminate action against criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers, and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
