Pakistani security forces killed two terrorists, including a key ring leader, during an intelligence-based operation in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

The operation was carried out on December 24, following reports about the presence of Khwarij terrorists in the area. During the operation, security personnel effectively engaged the terrorist hideout, resulting in the killing of two Khwarij, including the ring leader Dilawar.

According to ISPR, Dilawar was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies for his involvement in multiple terrorist activities, and the government had announced head money of Rs 4 million for his arrest.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who were actively involved in terrorist attacks against security forces and the killing of innocent civilians.

ISPR said sanitisation operations are continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored Khwarij. It added that the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
