KARACHI: Foggy weather engulfed the city early hours on Sunday, reducing human visibility drastically and disrupting daily life, as the Met Office forecasts clear skies from Tuesday.

According to the Met, visibility declined to 200 meters in the early morning due to fog and the weather will continue with this pattern for Monday (today) as well. However, it indicates clear skies for Tuesday.

Several areas, including Gulistan-e-Jauhar (Block 10), Lalo Khet, Hasan Square, Gulshan-e-Ma’amar, Surjani Town, Super Highway, Sohrab Goth, Gulberg, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Clifton, Defence (DHA), Bahria Town, and Sheeren Jinnah Colony, remained under fog during the morning.Residents reported that visibility dropped to near zero around Fajr time, with landmarks disappearing from sight even at short distances, obscuring even high rise buildings from the range of human visibility.

Meteorological updates indicated that visibility, which had dropped to as low as 200 meters in the early morning, later improved to around 1,500 meters.

The Met anticipates dry weather conditions in the Karachi Division on December 22 and 23, accompanied by cool to cold nights and generally mild daytime temperatures. On Monday (December 22), dry weather is expected with a cool night and a misty morning.
