KARACHI: On the directives of Sindh Senior Minister and Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, the Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Department has initiated action against the vehicles using fake fitness certificates.

Reportedly, some transporters had obtained fake fitness certificates through agents to avoid physical inspection of their vehicles, which is not only a serious violation of the law but a major threat to public safety.

The Minister has directed the PTA Secretary to cancel the route permits of all vehicles found using fake fitness certificates, update the records of such vehicles on the department’s live portal, register cases against those violating the law, and submit a detailed report on the action taken within three days.

He said that no one will be allowed to endanger the lives and property of the people, and that the use of fake fitness certificates is a serious crime.

He said that the government is committed to making the transport system safe, transparent, and in accordance with the law. Anyone found involved in this illegal activity, whether transporters or agents, will be dealt strictly according to the law.
