KARACHI: Falcon-i has announced the deployment of what it describes as one of the region’s most sophisticated tracking and security systems designed to monitor transit trade operations across Pakistan.

According to the details, the initiative, in partnership with Pakistan Customs, marks a substantial advancement in trade corridor management through the integration of cutting-edge technologies, including satellite communication, 5G and dual-SIM connectivity, and LoRaWAN technology.

The company said these solutions work together to ensure transparency and continuous monitoring of cargo travelling along border routes and internal corridors.

At the heart of the system is a three-state RFID sealing mechanism that tracks containers through distinct phases labelled “Open,” “Transit,” and “Closed,” enabling the customs authorities to verify container status in real time, minimizing the risk of tampering while accelerating clearance procedures.

The deployment combines Internet of Things (IoT) and RFID technologies to streamline customs oversight, while satellite capability ensures uninterrupted visibility even in remote areas where conventional communication signals are unreliable, it said.

The company further said that the officials associated with the project highlighted these features as critical to maintaining operational continuity across diverse geographical conditions and additional capabilities, including automated reporting and digital dashboards, which also replaced several manual processes previously required for compliance monitoring. The system’s enhanced response times for detecting deviations are expected to strengthen the reliability and transparency of transit trade operations, potentially improving Pakistan’s competitiveness in transit trade, it added.
