ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said Pakistan and the United Kingdom shared a longstanding relationship grounded in common history, strong institutional links and mutual respect.
He also highlighted the role of the British Pakistani diaspora, describing it as a vital bridge between the two countries.
The remarks were made during a meeting with Baroness Jenny Chapman, the UK’s minister of state for international development, who called on the Prime Minister during her official visit to Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, during the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including development cooperation, climate resilience, economic engagement and broader regional matters.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening cooperation in these areas.
Welcoming the visit, the Prime Minister said it provided an important opportunity to advance bilateral dialogue and expressed confidence that it would contribute to strengthening the partnership between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
