PESHAWAR: A delegation of visiting Bangladeshi journalists called on Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House Peshawar on Saturday.

The delegation included Hasan Sharif, Anindo Mustafa, Muhammad Basheer Ahmed, Mehdi Hasan Palash, Noor-ul-Mustafa Qazi, Muhammad Ubaid Ahmed, Yasir Arafat and Safat Kabir. The Governor also hosted a special luncheon in their honour.

During the meeting, matters relating to the overall situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa came under discussion. Members of the delegation said they were pleased to visit the province, particularly the historic Governor House, and said that the people of Bangladesh admire KP’s natural beauty and hospitality. They expressed keen interest in strengthening bilateral people-to-people ties.

Welcoming the delegation, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi thanked the journalists for visiting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said the province is known for its peace-loving and hospitable people. He said KP has always projected a message of peace and harmony, and Pakistan enjoys brotherly relations with Bangladesh as a fellow Muslim nation. Stronger ties between the two countries, he added, would benefit not only both nations but the entire South Asian region.

The Governor reiterated that the people of Afghanistan are considered brothers, and Pakistan has hosted Afghan refugees for decades.

Highlighting KP’s natural resources and strategic location, he said the province offers vast opportunities for trade and investment.
