ISLAMABAD: Nawab of Junagadh, Nawab Ali Murtaza Khanji, reaffirmed his commitment to Junagadh cause saying it’s accession to Pakistan remains a valid and binding treaty. He on Tuesday met with MNA Isphanyar Bhandara in Rawalpindi.

The meeting focused on the historical and political significance of the Junagadh issue, particularly in light of India’s continued transgression over the territory legally acceded to Pakistan.

During the discussion, the Nawab said he continues to lead the Junagadh cause with the honour and dignity upheld by his forefathers. He reiterated that Junagadh’s accession to Pakistan remains a valid and binding treaty, and stated that the principality’s case stands firmly on historical evidence and international legal principles. He emphasised the need for Pakistanis to recognise the national importance of the issue and to voice their support across all platforms.

The Nawab appealed to the Government of Pakistan to extend full diplomatic, moral, and political backing to his efforts at the national and international level. He stressed that the legal position of Pakistan regarding Junagadh should be highlighted with renewed clarity and confidence.

MNA Isphanyar Bhandara appreciated the Nawab’s steadfast commitment and assured him of his full support. He underscored that the Junagadh matter is linked not only to Pakistan’s territorial history but also to the recognition of its princely states’ lawful agreements.

MNA Bhandara stated that preserving such historical narratives is essential for understanding Pakistan’s constitutional development and its early statecraft. He further noted that engagements like these are important for ensuring that longstanding national matters remain part of public discourse and receive the institutional attention they deserve.
