PESHAWAR: A road accident on Swabi Motorway claimed the lives of four people and left five others seriously injured on Sunday.
According to police, a car carrying nine passengers was on way from Peshawar to Islamabad when it lost control near the River Indus near Swabi and crashed into side guardrail.
Rescue officials confirmed that four people including two women and two men died on the spot. The remaining five passengers sustained critical injuries.
All injured were provided immediate first aid and later shifted to Bacha Khan Hospital for further treatment. The bodies were also transported to the hospital.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
