Bangladesh earthquake: President extends prayers & sympathies over loss of lives
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives caused by the earthquake that struck Bangladesh Saturday.
The President extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families in Dhaka and Narsingdi who lost their loved ones in the tragic incident. He prayed for the elevation of ranks of those who passed away and for the swift and complete recovery of all those injured.
President Zardari expressed concern over reports of partial building collapses, falling debris and damage to essential infrastructure in Dhaka and adjoining areas.
He appreciated the relief measures initiated by the Government of Bangladesh, particularly by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
President Zardari reaffirmed that the people of Pakistan stand in full solidarity with the Government and people of Bangladesh in this hour of grief, adding that Pakistan shares their pain and extends its prayers and sympathies during this difficult time.
