LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, has said that the United States Congress has openly appreciated the eco-friendly reforms introduced by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz.
She stated that the Pakistan Caucus of the US Congress has written a special letter to the Chief Minister, acknowledging the historic step of transitioning traditional brick kilns to modern, environmentally efficient technology.
Azma Bokhari added that the Punjab Government has taken exceptional and courageous measures to modernize the brick kiln industry, ensure environmental protection, and eliminate child and bonded labour. These efforts of Punjab government are being recognized at the global level.
She further said that Maryam Nawaz’s model for modernizing brick kilns has not only become a benchmark for the entire region but is also being appreciated by international forums for its positive impact on environmental sustainability and human rights protection.
