LDA recovers five commercial plots

Published Updated

LAHORE: In an operation against encroachment mafia, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has recovered five commercial plots worth millions of rupees.

According to the LDA on Friday, on the instructions of LDA DG Tahir Farooq, the LDA teams conducted the operation in Allama Iqbal Town, specifically in the Khyber and Rachna Blocks, resulting in the recovery of the 10-marla commercial plots owned by the LDA; the constructions on these plots were demolished.

Under the supervision of Director Housing III, Rafia Nazir, the operation involved the LDA Enforcement Squad and Para Force. The DG LDA has emphasised the need to protect LDA-owned properties.

In addition to this operation, the LDA Town Planning teams also worked across various zones, sealing 28 properties. Operations were carried out in Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad, New Garden Town, Model Town Extension, and Government Superior Scheme.

Teams seized 10 properties in Gulshan Ravi and Samanabad, 13 properties in New Garden Town, Model Town Extension, and five properties in the Government Superior Scheme due to illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercial fees.

The sealed properties included private schools, grocery stores, clinics, electrical shops, auto workshops, salons, food establishments, and offices. The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner Asad-uz-Zaman.
