LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on her way to attend the COP-30 Conference in Brazil made a brief stopover in London where she spoke to the media.
She stated that for the first time in history, Punjab will be formally participating in COP-30 Conference rather than attending as an observer. She highlighted that Punjab’s flagship environmental projects will be presented at the global forum.
She noted, “Suthra Punjab is one of the world’s most organized waste management programs. She added that Punjab already launched e-mobility, electric buses and electric bikes projects across the province. She outlined, “Our transport system is gradually shifting to green energy.”
The Chief Minister emphasized that significant progress has been made in tourism, wildlife conservation and environmental protection, adding that the world is acknowledging Punjab government’s efforts to mitigate and eliminate smog in the province.
She said while responding to a question, “Mian Shehbaz Sharif trained me; I am following in his footsteps, he remains my mentor.”
She expressed deep gratitude for the love and affection shown by the people of Punjab, saying, “I could never have imagined receiving such an overwhelming support from the public. By the grace of Almighty Allah, I have faced no difficulty in holding the office of Chief Minister. She stated, “We are working as a team-oriented government and this spirit of collaboration is being recognized and appreciated by the people across Punjab.”
