Environmental stewardship, water security: Ahsan, Musadik praise Coca-Cola Pakistan’s efforts
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Dr Ahsan Iqbal and Minister for Climate Change Dr Musadik Malik Thursday appreciated Coca-Cola Pakistan’s efforts in environmental stewardship, water security, waste management, and community empowerment.
Coca-Cola successfully showcased its wide range of sustainability initiatives at the 28th Sustainable Development Conference, hosted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). A major highlight was The Coca-Cola Foundation receiving the Best Social Impact Award for its Home Chefs Project from SDPI. Implemented in partnership with CARE Pakistan, this initiative is training 8,000 home-based chefs, 80 percent of whom are women, to scale up their micro-businesses.
The Coca-Cola sustainability pavilion at Sustainable Development Conference was inaugurated by Hakan Ergen, Vice President of Coca-Cola Eurasia & Middle East. General Manager Coca-Cola Pakistan Sami Wahid, high-profile government officials, including Minister for Planning and Development Dr. Ahsan Iqbal and Minister for Climate Change Dr Musadik Malik, visited the Coca-Cola pavilion. They commended Coca-Cola Pakistan’s efforts in the said areas.
