LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz have congratulated the Sikh community around the world on the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.
The CM said that Guru Nanak Sahib was the pioneer of humanity, love and brotherhood. Peaceful societies are built on the basis of tolerance and brotherhood. Baba Guru Nanak preached sharing each other’s joys and sorrows.
She highlighted that Punjab is a champion of equal facilities and rights for every citizen, regardless of their religion. She underscored that “together we should make the Holy Land an example of peace, harmony and tolerance. Baba Guru Nanak taught the lesson of love, compassion, humanity and tolerance.”
The Chief Minister recalled that participation in Baisakhi festival in Kartarpur last year was a memorable day. She flagged that the Sikh community has been provided with the best facilities for the celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary, and special attention has been paid to the maintenance, renovation and security of their Gurdwaras.
