LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Acting Chief Liaqat Baloch has called on the governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan to ensure full facilitation for the restoration of bilateral trade, emphasizing that post-Doha Agreement improvements in the region have brought relief to the people.

“Restoring mutual confidence and stability is a shared responsibility of Islamabad and Kabul,” he said while addressing a consultative meeting at Mansoorah on Thursday.

Referring to the continuing Israeli aggression in Gaza, Baloch said that despite the Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement, “the Zionist bombing, massacres, and bloodshed continue unchecked.” He questioned why US President Donald Trump is not ensuring Israel’s compliance with the so-called peace deal that he himself brokered.

“The ongoing Israeli actions and America’s blatant bias show that the unity of the Muslim world is the only sustainable path to protecting the Ummah and achieving freedom for Palestine and Kashmir,” he stressed.

On the national front, Baloch warned against imposing civil martial law in Punjab and urged the provincial government to uphold the constitution, judiciary’s independence, and rule of law. “If the Punjab government considers itself above the law, this hypocrisy cannot continue,” he said.

Condemning the ongoing power struggle between the PPP and PML-N over government formation in Balochistan, Baloch termed it shameful. He said both ruling parties came to power through Form 47 and are now repeating the same manipulation in their coalition dealings. He urged the rulers to focus instead on solving the people’s problems, adding that Pakistan’s agriculture, industry, and trade are in deep crisis while farmers face severe hardship.

“Inflation has become unbearable, unemployment is rising, and corruption, bribery, and bureaucratic arrogance have become deadly for the national economy,” he added. “The dacoits of Kacha are surrendering their arms, but when will the white-collar dacoits of corruption lay down theirs?”

Highlighting Jamaat-e-Islami’s upcoming three-day Ijtema-e-Aam scheduled for November 21–23, 2025 at Minar-e-Pakistan, Baloch said the event will mark “a milestone for national unity, solidarity, and peaceful resistance against oppression.” Under the slogan ‘Badal Do Nizam’ (Change the System), JI Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman will unveil the roadmap for peaceful national struggle, he said.
