KARACHI: Treet Battery Limited (TBL), a manufacturer historically focused on lead-acid batteries, has announced a major diversification step by entering the lithium-ion battery market through a strategic partnership with China’s Highstar Digital Energy Technology (Guangdong) Company Ltd.

In a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company said it would import and distribute Highstar’s lithium-ion batteries in Pakistan, positioning itself to tap into emerging opportunities in renewable energy, electric mobility, and sustainable power solutions.

Management described the partnership as a “strategic step” designed to supplement existing operations and align with global energy transitions.

TBL’s management emphasized that lithium-ion technology is becoming increasingly critical in applications such as solar power systems, electric vehicles, and backup energy storage. By introducing Highstar’s products in the domestic market, the company aims to broaden its revenue base, enhance its competitive strength, and generate long-term value for shareholders.

Highstar Digital Energy Technology, a limited liability company incorporated in the People’s Republic of China, is recognized internationally as a manufacturer of energy storage solutions. Its lithium-ion products are widely used in industrial, residential, and mobility-related sectors, giving TBL a foothold in a high-growth segment of the global energy industry.

The company expressed confidence that the collaboration would reinforce its market position and contribute to sustained growth. Management also highlighted that this initiative would likely bolster investor sentiment by signalling TBL’s commitment to innovation and expansion beyond its traditional portfolio.

Industry analysts say the move reflects a broader trend among local manufacturers seeking to align with global shifts toward clean energy and electrification. The lithium-ion segment, in particular, is expected to play a pivotal role in meeting Pakistan’s growing demand for energy storage and electric transport solutions.
