Issues of KPC housing schemes to be resolved on priority basis: Info secy

KARACHI: Secretary Information Department Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon said that the issues of journalists and press clubs to be resolved on the priority as per given mandate of Sindh Information Department.

Presiding over the 5th follow-up meeting of the members of the committee to resolve the issues of memebers of Karachi Press Club (KPC), held in his office on Tuesday, he said that concerned development authorities are being sensitised to prepare development plan on the plots allocated to the journalists.

In meeting, the Secretary Information suggested the Director General (DG) Malir Development Authority (MDA) Najabuddin Sahito to hold a meeting with the office-bearers of KPC to streamline the allotment of the plots and the development of KPC Journalists Housing Society at Taiser Town, Malir.

President KPC Saeed Sarbazi and Secretary KPC Shoib Ahmed briefed the meeting about the development issues of the allotted land and also the issue of additional allotment of 700 plots to the KPC Journalists Housing Society.

On this occasion, Director General (DG) Lyari Development Authority (LDA) Syed Shabiul Hassan told in meeting that PC-I of development plan of more than 1380 plots of Block 2, 3, 3A, 3A1 and Block 68 of KPC Journalists Housing Society has been submitted to the Local Government for the release of funds.

Secretary Information while concluding the meeting said that necessary further correspondence to be made in the light of the meeting by and to all the concerned departments like land utilisation department, local government, LDA and MDA regarding the issues of allotments of plots, as well as, the development of the allotted plots to KPC Journalists Society.

Director General (Public Relations) Information Department Muhammad Saleem Khan, Additional Secretary Local Government Department Liaquat Ali Bhatti, Deputy Secretary Land Utilisation Department Ghazanfer Ali Abbasi, Director Information Akhtar Ali Surhio, Deputy Director MDA Mohammad Laique Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Malir Nawab Sameer, Assistant Commissioner Maripur Muhammad Ashraf Sangri, Deputy Director Land MDA Zeeshan Ahmed Khan and Deputy Director Information Sahib Khan Bhand attended the meeting.
