ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPP-P) Secretary General Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said that May 9 is the “darkest day in the history of Pakistan.”

“It is the Constitutional responsibility of the government and the state to bring those who challenged the writ of the state to justice. The violators of the Constitution and their followers are [a] stigma on the politics. Riot, chaos, attack, encirclement, arson is tantamount to challenging the writ of the state,” he stated on Thursday.

He said that the PPP stands with the defenders of the motherland who sacrificed their lives. He said that the party respects and honours institutions and condemns the group that spreads hatred against institutions.

“Attackers on national security institutions and burning of memorials of martyrs is a tool of enemies of the country,” he said.
