LONDON: Europe’s main stock markets rose solidly at the start of trading Friday following similar performances in Asia and on Wall Street.

London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed 0.7 percent to 7,647.36 points.

In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 gained 0.5 percent to 7,782.91 points and Frankfurt’s DAX index won 0.5 percent to 17,123.57.
