LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the authorities concerned to complete the ‘Safe City Projects’ in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Gujranwala within the stipulated period.

The CM issued these instructions while presiding a meeting, held here on Wednesday, to review the progress on Safe City Projects of these cities. He instructed that construction of the buildings along with the procurement of necessary equipment should be completed in time. He instructed the Regional Police Officers (RPOs) of concerned cities to personally monitor the projects. “All the cameras of the Lahore Safe City project should be made functional as soon as possible,” he directed.

In the meeting, suggestions were considered, to improve emergency services 15 and make Punjab Safe City Authority paperless and 2000 cameras in Lahore will be functional by the first week of November.

Inspector General of Police briefed the meeting about the progress regarding Safe City projects of Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Gujranwala.

Moreover, on the instructions of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, the publication of a unique book containing traditional and popular sports of Punjab “Khedan Punjab Diyan” has been completed.

The caretaker Information Minister Punjab Aamir Mir and Information Secretary Ali Nawaz Malik presented "Khedan Punjab Diyan" coffee table book to Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday.

The CM said that it will be remembered to preserve centuries’ old sports of Punjab in pictures and writing. He said that transferring traditional sports and culture to the new generation is essential for the preservation of traditional heritage.

Amir Mir said on this occasion that the culture of Punjab is our pride; we cannot forget the traditional sports.

Ali Nawaz Malik said that it is an honor for us to present the sports highlights of Punjab and the book will be a treat for culture lovers.

Punjab Institute of Language Art and Culture published "Khedan Punjab Diyan" in Punjabi language and was attributed to those who prided themselves on the folk heritage of Punjab.
