KARACHI: Renowned industrialist and former President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Sheikh Umer Rehan has said the establishment of the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone has been hailed as a crucial step towards advancing industrial development and economic growth in Pakistan.

He said establishment of the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone is also expected to attract both domestic and international investors, bolstering Pakistan's economic prospects and paving the way for a brighter future.

As the nation looks forward to a more robust industrial landscape and accelerated economic growth, the vision and dedication behind the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone serve as a beacon of hope for a prosperous Pakistan.

Lauding the initiative for its potential to promote industries and boost economic progress in the country, he acknowledging the significance of this milestone, Pakistan People's Party Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Chief Minister's Special Assistant on Investment, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, expressed admiration for the ambitious project.

The Dhabeji SEZ, located in Sindh, is expected to serve as a catalyst for economic development and increased investment in the region.

The establishment of new industries within the zone is anticipated to create numerous employment opportunities, effectively addressing the pressing issues of poverty and unemployment.

Highlighting the transformative potential of such initiatives, Sheikh Umer Rehan emphasized the need to replicate this model across the country. By establishing more Special Economic Zones on the pattern of Dhabeji, Pakistan could significantly expand the scope of its economic revolution, benefitting regions nationwide.

To foster social development and economic prosperity, Rehan stressed the importance of collaboration between the business community and the government.

He called for joint efforts in promoting public-private partnerships and initiating new development projects, which would pave the way for sustained economic growth and prosperity.
