LAHORE: Chairman Supreme Council Naeem Mir on Wednesday strongly criticized government’s announcement to close the business at 8 pm without consultation of the stakeholders. In a press conference along with trader leaders Sohail Butt, Shahid Nazir, Mian Khalil Abir, Naeem Khan and others.

Naeem Mir said that instead of issuing an executive order, the government should bring the matter in to the parliament. He demanded that a special committee of the parliament should be formed to fix the business hours of summer and winter.

He also demanded that parliamentary committee should listen to the traders also.

When a law is implemented in every part of the country, it will not be objectionable. Naeem Mir said that the care taker provincial governments should refrain from implementing this order.

Of course, the business community will oppose the recommended 8 pm closure, because they live on another planet Pakistan where an abundance of electricity is available for their business style. Meanwhile, markets in Europe and US close shops by 6 pm, guess they have no idea on how to run their business. Collective madness at its best.
