ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has demanded immediate withdrawal of the notification regarding handing over of 45,267 acres of agricultural land to the Pakistan Army.

In a press statement issued on Monday PBC vice-Chairman Haroonur Rashid, and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Council Hassan Raza Pashah expressed their serious concerns over the purported Notification dated 10-03-2023 issued by the General Head Quarter Land Directorate, whereby 45267 Acres of Agriculture Land situated in different Districts of Punjab Province has been handed over to Pakistan Army.

They said that this illegal practice of donating out of public resources to the Army is neither justified nor acceptable to the people of Pakistan. Therefore, they demanded the purported notification shall be withdrawn immediately.

In case of failure to withdraw the illegal notification, the PBC shall file an appropriate petition before the competent Court of Law in accordance with the law and Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.
