KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 102,990 tonnes of cargo comprising 49,909 tonnes of import cargo and 53,081 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 49,909 comprised of 30,723 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 7,072 tonnes of Bulk Cargo 2,252 tonnes of Wheat, 1,732 tonnes of Yellow Soya Bean Seeds and 8,130 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 53,081 tonnes comprised of 13,130 tonnes of containerized cargo, 400 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 31,490 tonnes of Clinkers, 4,148 tonnes of Cement and 3,913 tonnes of rice.
As many as, 4131 containers comprising of 2542 containers import and 1589 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 448 of 20’s and 997 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 50 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 179 of 20’s and 499 of 40’s loaded containers while 308 of 20’s and 52 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Some 02 ships namely, Budapest Express and MTM Savanna have berth at Karachi Port.
About 04 ships namely, Kmtc Mundra, Kota Megah, Msc Emily II and Kota Padang have sailed out from Karachi Port.
Around 08 cargoes, namely CARP, MSC Dhantia, VGlory, Iconic United, Emirates Zanzibar, MOL Generosity, Oocl LeHavre and Diamond StarII were expected to arrive at the port.
