ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE) which is scheduled to meet on Thursday (today) will discuss report of the inter-ministerial committee on establishment of new LNG terminals.

The sources said pipeline capacity availability for 44 MMCFD in SSGC’s transmission and distribution network is available for allocation to Energas while SSGC apprised OGRA of pipeline capacity availability of 150 MMCFD in its transmission network for allocation to Tabeer Energy.

The sources said the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, which had been given lead role in new LNG terminals, would present a report of inter-ministerial committee. Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and Petroleum will present a report of sub-committee of CCoE on pipeline capacity allocation for new LNG terminals.

The sources said Power Division would submit Circular Debt Management Plan- report on targets for FY 2021-22.

In 2020-21, the government has added Rs 498 billion to the flow of circular debt due to lower budgeted subsidies, and increased cost of inefficiencies. The accumulated circular debt was Rs 2.732 trillion in 2020-21 as the government has claimed that it added only Rs 177 billion in circular debt.

According to the officials of Power Division, World Bank has asked government to share new CDMP with it if it does not want to increase tariff as per earlier commitments.
