Colombia’s coffee production up

BOGOTA: Colombia produced 1.05 million 60-kg bags of washed arabica coffee in March, the national coffee federation said on Thursday, up 30% from the 806,000 bags produced in the same month last year.

Coffee exports last month were up 21%, to 1.14 million bags, from around 948,000 bags in March 2020.

The increases were thanks to less impact from the coronavirus pandemic and more exports, the federation said.

Colombia produced 13.9 million 60-kg bags of washed arabica coffee in 2020, down 6% from 2019, affected by the pandemic.
