KARACHI: Consul General of Turkey in Karachi, Tolga Ucak said that for more trade between Turkey and Pakistan we need to have a Turk Bank here so that we can establish better and smooth banking and transaction channels.

Speaking at a meeting of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI), he said Turkey wants to expend relation with Pakistan in the field of technology and vocational training.

The Consul General said that Turk investors have keen interest in the industrial sector of Pakistan; especially food, textile and chemical are some of the priority sectors. He added that Turkey can provide industrial machinery to Pakistan.

President of KATI Saleem-uz-Zaman briefed him about economic significance and production capabilities of Korangi Industrial Area.

He said that numbers of Turk companies are working successfully in Pakistan, however, there is huge possibility to increase the volume of bilateral trade.

Head of KATI’s standing committee on diplomatic affairs, Rashid Siddiqui said that now Turkey is one of the competitors of Europe in technology and we can enhance our relation in this sector. He said that a commercial consulate of Turkey has to be established in Pakistan to enhance bilateral trade.

Former President Masood Naqi said that we welcome the educational and vocational training projects of Turkey in Pakistan and ready to facilitate in our capacity.

Senior Vice President Zaki Ahmed Sharif and Vice President Nighat Awan also addressed the occasion.
