Hattar industrialists to register as withholding agents with KPRA

PESHAWAR: Hattar Industrialists Association (HIA) has decided to register their businesses with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) as withholding agents for sales tax on services. KPRA arranged an awareness seminar for the members of HIA at Hattar Industrial Estate where the representatives of the association announced their complete support and tax compliance.

The participants of the seminar belonging to good transport and various Industries operating at the Estate were given detailed briefing by KPRA Additional Collector North region Zulfiqar Ahmed. Zulfiqar explained the withholding regulations 2020 of the KPRA and shed light on role of withholding agents under the regulations.

KPRA representative Jawad Kiyani gave a live demo on how to file sales tax returns at KPRA portal as withholding agent and how to calculate and withhold tax from the service providers.

Advisor KPRA on Tax Policy Iftikhar Qutab and Additional Collector Headquarters Fazal Amin Shah responded to the questions of the participants and assured them complete support and facilitation from KPRA's side to ease their work.

Senior Vice Chairman HIA Attaur Rehman Yousafzai welcomed the efforts of KPRA North for arranging the seminar and announced to completely support KPRA by registering their businesses with the Authority and insuring complete compliance. "We had some confusion and a few questions which were addressed by the KPRA officials," he said in his concluding remarks adding that they would expect the government to not only simplify the tax administration system but also increase its net thus reducing burden on Industrialists and business community.
