CHICAGO: U.S. wheat futures rose Thursday, following the soybean markets higher and supported by a weaker U.S. dollar, traders said.

CBOT March soft red winter wheat settled up 12-3/4 cents at $6.29-3/4 per bushel.

K.C. March hard red winter wheat ended 8-3/4 cents higher at $5.88 per bushel and MGEX March spring wheat added 8-1/2 cents to settle at $5.80 per bushel.

Jordan is seeking 120,000 tonnes of wheat in an international tender which closed on Wednesday, traders said.

The U.S. sold 393,700 tonnes of 2020/2021 wheat for export in the week ending December 17, down 27 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Trade estimates were 300,000-500,000 tonnes.

Russia will more than double its output of durum wheat, used in the production of pasta and couscous, to 1.8 million tonnes by 2025, its agriculture ministry said.
