LAHORE: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Wednesday that Punjab is the most secure province for investors, as different facilities are provided to the investors under one roof.

He said this during a meeting with Chairman Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) Sardar Tanvir Ilyas, here. During the meeting, matters concerning the investment-friendly initiatives came under discussion.

The CM maintained that energy relief package of PM Imran Khan will help promote investment along with creation of more job opportunities. “A wonderful package has also been announced for the construction industry by the provincial government by introducing a one-window system for construction sector related NOCs,” he said.

Moreover, while inaugurating the new building of police investigation complex central headquarters, driving license centre in DHA, a new building of Gulshan-e-Ravi police station and mobile application for women safety, the CM accorded approval for the recruitment of 5700 policemen.

While presiding over a meeting at police investigation complex, the CM directed to expedite the transfer of land to 101 police stations. The investigation process will also be monitored through a central investigation centre, he disclosed.

Buzdar said funds are provided according to the needs of the investigation wing because the quality investigation is very pivotal to take criminals to task. New vehicles will be given to police stations instead of using them for security, he said, adding: “Model policing will be introduced as improving organizational capacity is a priority agenda of the PTI government.”

IG Inam Ghani said unprecedented steps have been taken for police in a short span of two years adding that police performance is being improved due to establishment of south Punjab secretariat.

Furthermore, the CM paid a surprise visit to Sahulat Bazaars set up in Depalpur and Okara on Wednesday and directed to provide 2-kilogram sugar packet instead of one kilogram.

After his arrival to Depalpur, the CM went to Sahulat Bazaar in a police van while administration remained unaware about his arrival.
