According to Joe Biden's campaign, the presidential nominee can defeat President Donald Trump and win the White House, even without the support of two crucial battleground states - Florida and Pennsylvania.
According to the Biden campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon, the former Vice President was "leading by 8 points coming into Election Day" across the key battleground states, credited in part due to the unprecedented scale of turnout through mail-in ballots and early-voting.
Dillion emphasised the campaign's "enthusiasm in early voting," adding that it is "continuing today in voting so far; reflecting the Biden campaign's promising start to Election Day. Furthermore, she highlighted that "[early success in the polls] allows us to continue to have these multiple paths to victory" to the 270 electoral votes needed to capture the White House.
Almost 100 million Americans cast their ballots through early-voting and mail-in ballots, which in itself is nearly three-quarters of all the votes cast in the 2016 election; setting the stage for one of the largest election turnouts in modern American history.
Both candidates focused a considerable chunk of their time and resources into both Florida and Pennsylvania, in which Trump narrowly beat Hillary Clinton to secure his place in the White House, to which Dillon added that "Trump has such a harder hill to climb today to overcome the advantage we came in with".
Pennsylvania (20 electoral votes) and Florida (29 electoral votes) seem to be considerably leaning towards Joe Biden, as the former Vice President leads by 2.2 percent in the former and 5.0 percent in the latter, according to projected polls.
