LAHORE: In a surprise move, former Special Assistant to PM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has been appointed as Special Assistant to CM Punjab on information and broadcasting in place of Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan who will remain the provincial minister for colonies.

Two other provincial ministers Mehar Muhammad Aslam and Zawar Hussain Warraich have also been removed from their offices. Mehar Muhammad Aslam was the minister for cooperatives and Zawar Hussain Warraich was the minister for prisons. In her message on Twitter, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said, "I am greatly humbled and honoured with the confidence that my great leader Imran Khan has shown in myself and my ability. I am also deeply thankful to the honourable CM Punjab for making me a part of his team. I will do my level best to honour this call to duty".
