THE RUPEE: Fall reverses

KARACHI: On Wednesday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee went up against USD in both interbank and open markets. However, it remained unchanged against Euro, AED and SR in open market.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 30 paisas for buying and 40 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 165.60 and 165.70 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 10 paisas for buying and selling over yesterday's rates closing at 165.90 and 166.20 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 193 and 194.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 45.05 and 45.20 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling as well closing at 43.90 and 44.10 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth in the process of trading against the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Wednesday.

Following fresh buyers' interest in the market, the greenback remained under selling pressure throughout the trading session and ended lower for buying and selling at Rs 165.70 and Rs 166.70 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 166.00 and Rs 166.90 respectively, local currency dealers said.

Likewise, the local currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 211.50 and Rs 213.30 against the Tuesday's closing trend of Rs 212.20 and Rs 214.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee gained 10paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.

The dollar opened at Rs 166.20 (buying) and Rs 166.30 (selling) against last rate of Rs 166.30(buying) and Rs 166.40 (selling).

It closed at Rs 166.20(buying) and Rs 166.30(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 117,700(selling) and Rs 117,500 (buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
