Defending champions Norther batsmen Haider Ali and Zeeshan Malik already made National T20 Cup 2020 memorable after registering a mouth partnership of 180 runs to guide the side to a total of 242 runs in the tournament opener against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Haider fell just 10 runs shy from his maiden T20 ton. He scored 90 off 51 delivers while Malik played a cameo of 77 off just 47 delivers.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the record via tweet after the sensational partnership.

“19-year-old Haider Ali and 23-year-old Zeeshan Malik partnered for 180 today which goes down as the highest second-wicket partnership in the history of the #NationalT20Cup. The previous best was between 169* between Yasir Hameed and Younis Khan in 2014,” the PCB tweet stated.
