Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman, who is aiming for major squad overhauling, has asked midfielder Riqui Puig to leave the club as he is not part for his plans for the next season.
The midfield sensation from Barca’s youth academy has made a huge impact last season despite making only handful of appearances, but now been reportedly been asked to leave the Catalan club, as per RAC1.
The 21-year-old has not been included in the Barcelona squad for Saturday’s Joan Gamper Trophy clash against Elche and there’s been no explanation from the club as to why.
The youngster has featured in Barca’s first two pre-season friendlies against Nastic and Girona, and done well, but we won’t see him at the Camp Nou today.
There has been whispers previously of a loan move for Puig, but it’s not clear right now if the club want to send him on loan or look for a permanent deal.
