Religious scholar Allama Zameer Naqvi passes away after cardiac arrest

(Karachi) Renowned religious scholar Allama Syed Zameer Akhtar Naqvi passed away in Karachi after cardiac arrest, media reported on Sunday. He was 76 years old.

According to Naqvi's family, the religious scholar suffered cardiac complications and passed away. He was taken to a private hospital where he breathed his last.

Allama Zameer Naqvi’s funeral prayers will be offered at Shuhada-e-Karbala Imambargah in Ancholi area after Maghrib prayers.

Allama Naqvi was born on March 24, 1944 in India’s Lucknow. He authored over 300 books in various fields, including literature, culture, religion, philosophy, logic, journalism, sociology, science, oratory, and language. He was also known for lectures he gave on topics such as science, philosophy and history.

He was the president of the Mir Anees Academy and editor-in-chief of quarterly magazine Al-Qalam.

Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has expressed his condolences over the death of the noted scholar.

So sad news about demise of Allama Zameer Akhtar Naqvi. He was a genius one of his time for literary work and an orator of IMAM HUSSAIN A.S majalis which will be remembered for long period. My heartfelt condolences to the deceased family and pray Almighty to grant fortitude to the bereaved family including followers to bear irreparable loss and place the departed soul in Jannat ul firdaus.
