HYDERABAD: The Divisional Commissioner (DC) Hyderabad Mohammed Abbas Baloch has directed the Deputy Commissioners, SSPs and other concerned officers of the division to make all the arrangements for Muharramul Haram before time particularly foolproof security arrangements should be ensured during the Muharram.
He said that keeping in view the Covid-19 situation the measures be taken to ensure implementation on SOPs issued by the Sindh government during the Muharram.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding arrangements for Muharramul Haram at his office through video link conference on Saturday. He directed the Deputy Commissioners to hold meetings in their respective districts for making arrangements for Muharram in advance, particularly hold meetings with Ulema and resolve their problems if any.
Baloch also directed the Deputy Commissioners to establish control rooms which would work round-the-clock where complaints could be registered and resolved accordingly. He said that meetings should also be held with peace committees of the districts.
He said that Hyderabad has always remained peaceful where people despite having diversity live with brotherhood and religious harmony, this year too the holy month of Muharram would remain peaceful, he expressed his hope.
The Commissioner Hyderabad directed the SSPs of the division to ensure foolproof security arrangements especially on the routes of processions and places of majalis. He directed the Hesco authority to refrain from unscheduled loadsheding and also avoid loadsheding at night time during Muharram. He directed the concerned officers to ensure better cleanliness arrangements. He directed the MD Wasa for making better arrangements of water supply and Sewerage.
Addressing at the meeting the DIG Hyderabad Naeem Ahmed Shaikh directed the SSPs of the division to remain in close contact with DC of their respective district. He also directed to extend their intelligence network and keep an eye on suspicious persons so that no one could get access to harm peaceful atmosphere. He also underlined the need of close check of FIA on social media so that provocative posts which could cause hatred among the people of different sects should not be sent.
