KARACHI: On Friday, Pakistan Rupee gained value against USD in interbank market. It also generally gained value in open market.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 45 paisas for buying and 30 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166.10 and 166.40 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 30 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166.50 and 167 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged for buying while gaining 50 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 186 and 187.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 10 paisas for buying and 5 paisas for selling closing at 44.90 and 45.10 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 43.90 and 44.10 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth versus major currencies including the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Friday.

Amidst lack of buyers' interest in the market, the dollar remained under selling pressure for the second consecutive day and ended further lower for buying and selling at Rs 207.50 and Rs 167.60 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 166.60 and Rs 168.00 respectively, local currency dealers said.

Likewise, the national currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 207.50 and Rs 209.00 against the Thursday's closing trend of Rs 208.50 and Rs 210.08 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Friday.

The dollar opened at Rs 167.50(buying) and Rs 167.60(selling) against same last rate.

It closed at Rs 167.50(buying) and Rs 167.60(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold were Rs. 111,300(selling) and Rs 110,100(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
