50 mini hydel power stations to be established in Dir Upper

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Inayat Ullah Khan has said that only in Dir Upper, there is capacity to establish more than 50 Mini Hydel Power Stations which can convert the area in to the city of lights.

He expressed this while talking to delegation from Dir Upper in Peshawar on Thursday. Senior Minister said that the present provincial government was determined to produce thousands of Mega Watt cheap electricity in hilly areas of the province.

He said the government was seriously working to develop its tourists resorts and enhance entertainment facilities so that cheap electricity as well as best tourist and recreational facilities could be provided to the people.

He stressed that it was need of the hour to initiate steps to promote tourism in the province and generate Hydel Power at local level.

He said the provincial government was making sincere efforts in this regard. Inayat Ullah said the old parks and gardens were being beautified and changed into attractive ones.

He said a large sum of money has been allocated in the current budget for this purpose. Minister directed the concerned authorities, to utilize the national funds honestly so that masses could be benefitted in the real sense.
