Agri Forum Pakistan, Chairman, Muhammad Ibrahim Mughal, has appealed to the government to reconsider the decision of trade with India, because doing business with India is 50 per cent less while agricultural input prices are 70 per cent less then Pakistan.
In a statement issued on Tuesday Mughal claimed that Pakistan would suffer a loss of Rs 200 billion in trade with India, it would render hundred of thousands of labourer jobless, close down 60 percent of Pakistani industry and ruin our green farms and sugar industry. The Forum Chairman stated that India extend Rs 950 billion subsidy on agriculture per annum while subsidy on flour was Rs 340 billion per annum. He said that it is a conspiracy behind the proposal of initiating a free trade with India in presence of above mentioned factors.
