NAB to hold inquiry into embezzlement cases in Railways

On the directive of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will hold inquiry to determine embezzlement and misappropriation in Pakistan Railway (PR). The Chairman of NAB, Fasih Bukhari, has ordered an inquiry against the officials of Pakistan Railways who are presumably involved in the mega corruption scam pertaining to massive misappropriation, embezzlement and misuse of authority.
An official of NAB said that the inquiry has been ordered in compliance with the orders of the Supreme Court. A team has been tasked to carry out the inquiry. The NAB will also look into the transfer of proceedings pertaining to Pakistan Railways pending with FIA, to NAB.
