imasdKARACHI: Brisk shipping was observed at the Port where eight ships scheduled to load-offload containers rise, canola seeds, chemicals and diesel oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal, grain & fertilizer Terminal engro Vopak Terminal and Fotco oil Terminal respectively on 15 December.

Meanwhile two more ships carrying containers and diesel oil also arrived at Port Qasim during the same day.

Berth occupancy remained at 62 percent at the Port on Thursday where a total of nine ships namely C.V Nora Maersk, C.V CMA CGM Wanger, C.V Safmarine Nagami, C.V Mare Atlantcum, M.V Afamia, M.V Paiute, M.T Sc Stealth, M.T Synnove Knutsen and M.T Kition are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, canola seeds, Phosphoric Acid, Palm oil and diesel oil and respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 112,492 tonnes, comprising 73,838 tonnes imports and 38,645 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,531 containers (Teus) was handled at the Port.

Three ships C.V Mare Atlanicum, C.V Nora Maersk and M.T SC Stealth sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two ships C.V CMA Wagner and C.V Safmarine Nagami are expected to sail on same day.

Two ships C.V Catania M.T Bunga Kantan Tiga carrying container and palm oil are expected to take berths at container Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on 16 December and two ships M.T Quetta and M.T Bow Jubai are due to arrive at Port Qasim on 17 December.
