Govt devises 12th five-year plan with focus on rural transformation

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Sartaj Aziz says government has devised the 12th five-year plan with particular focus on rural transformation.

He was addressing a seminar titled 'role of women in rural development' organized by Center for Rural Economy of Planning Commission here on Thursday.

Sartaj Aziz said the plan aims at addressing women related issues including their ineffective representation, lack of awareness of opportunities and non-recognition of their services.

He said the off-farm employment in the rural areas will not only create more opportunities for women but also will increase their family income.
