Apple got much popularity because of the facial recognition feature it introduced in its iPhone X. Now, OnePlus will also introduce a similar feature in its phone.

Few days ago, co-founder of OnePlus, Carl Pei, tweeted that on popular demand, the new face unlock security measure will soon come to the OnePlus 5, though he didn’t mention a specific date.

Apple’s Face ID feature uses depth mapping and projection to recognize a face. OnePlus’ Face Unlock is a software feature and is not as secure as Apple’s feature. It only uses the selfie camera for detecting the face instead of a hi-fi infrared depth-mapping camera but it sure is faster and more flexible, reported Engadget.
