The Karachi Port handled 131,372 tonnes of cargo including 103,564 tonnes of import cargo, 27,808 tonnes of export cargo and 5,745 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 103,564 tonnes comprised of 36,756 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20,289 tonnes of general cargo; 8,841 tonnes of bulk cargo and 37,678 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,808 tonnes comprised of 20,177 tonnes of containerised cargo; 139 tonnes of general cargo; 7,492 tonnes of bulk cargo. Four ships namely APL Coral, Bunga Raya Lapan, Vergina and Sunrise Wisteria carrying two container ships, general cargo ship and chemicals carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz HS Challanger, Glen Canyon Bridge, Xiang Fu Men, Gladiolus, Pacific Ruby, Sycamore and Dlace carrying two container ships, two steel carriers and three oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Five ships namely Pacific Ruby, Sycamore, Xiang Fu Men, Gladiolus and YM Asia carrying two oil tankers, two general cargo ships and container ship expected to sail on Thursday, while another ship namely Lahore Express with oil tanker is expected to sail on Friday.
Four vessels viz Primo Stealth, CSL Ride, Abtin-1 and Nizar-M carrying LSFO, two container ships and wheat carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday, while six vessels viz Emirates Indus, APL Chicago, OOCL Dalian, Hanjin Rome, Okyalos and Freja Ocean carrying four container ships, crew change and naphtha carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 80,032 tonnes of cargo includes 61,894 tonnes of import cargo, 26,138 tonnes of export cargo and 2,405 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 61,894 tonnes includes 30,000 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,900 tonnes of edible oil; 6,994 tonnes of chemicals and 20,000 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,138 tonnes includes 7,515 tonnes of wheat; 3,623 tonnes of cement and 15,000 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV ACX Margurite, MT Golden Ambrosia and MT Chemroad Fuji sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Puccini and CV Kathec Rickmers are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of nine vessels CV ACX Margurite, CV CMA CGM Puccini, CV Kathec Rickmers, CV MSC Diamon, MV Diamond Falcon, MV Topaz-II, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT Olympic Sponsor and MT Chemroad Fuji are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, cement, chemicals, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours. Six ships namely Dubai Express, Nicolline Maersk, Libra Ipanema, Al-Soor-II, Al-Kuwaitiah and Chemroad Mega carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of five vessels viz CV Dubai Express, CV Nicolline Maersk, CV Libra Ipanema, CV MSC Diman and MT Chemroad Mega carrying containers, furnace oil and palm oil are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday, while a container ship namely CV Pago is due to arrive on the same day. Two more container ships namely CV Glory and CV MSC Natalia are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday.
